Getting Ready For Winter With Regatta

We are huge Regatta fans here and we have been buying their products for years. Not only are they great quality at the online store there are always lots of great savings. I was over the moon when Regatta contacted me last week with the offer of getting the whole family ready for winter. The weather has been shocking of late and some of the family would benefit from a good windproof/waterproof coat. I went on the hunt on the Regatta website and handpicked an item for each of us, so I'm going to share them with you now.
Mr C is in Beavers and is soon to go up to Cubs after Christmas so a good pair of walking boots is essential. The Grimshaw Mid Walking boot fit the bill perfectly at £35.95 and are available in 3 colours and size uk9 to uk6. They are tough wearing, weatherproof winter boots and made of rich suede with water repellent Hydropel technology and a waterproof/breathable Isotex membrane to keep feet dry inside and out. The collar and tongue feature deep, supportive padding and the lightweight carbon outsole has a slip-resistant tread for excellent grip on wet ground. Complete with a d-hook flat lace fastening for a secure fit, this classic hiker-inspired pair is ideal for the trails or day-to-day wear. The Stabilising shank technology for underfoot protection and reducing foot fatigue are going to be essential for those long hikes he's going to be doing. The chunky laces are great for helping him to learn to tie his laces.
Mr RTR was like a kid in a candy shop when I told him he could pick whatever he wanted on the Regatta website. He works evenings and rides his bike to work, so his criteria for options was lightweight but warm, waterproof and a well-covered hood. He went for the Highspace Insulated Jacket, rrp £62.45, available in black also and in size small all the way up to 5xl.  It has waterproof and breathable Isotex 10000 textured polyester fabric which provides a water-repellent finish. The thermoguard insulation, taped seams, detachable hood and adjustable cuffs make it a good riding jacket. It also has 3 pockets, one either side and one on the chest which is handy for his door keys. He's pretty pleased with his choice and I have to agree, it's stylish and practical.
Now I already own a Regatta parker, very similar to Miss S's below in red and I love it, so I decided to treat myself to a pair of Regatta boots as I have never tried their footwear personally. I opted for the Argyle Boots rrp £71.95, available in sizes UK3 to UK8 and in black or Aztec brown. They are winter ready and packed with weather-proofing technologies keep your feet warm and dry on woodland walks or the day-to-day commute. The rich, suede uppers are grounded on a lightweight rubber sole with a chunky tread for superb grip. A seam-sealed waterproof/breathable ISOTEX membrane and HYDROPEL upper treatment deliver reliable protection. Inside a soft, knitted lining keeps feet feeling cosy while the breathable Ortholite® footbed ensures they stay feeling fresh. Complete with a knitted collar, side zip fastening and buckle adjust front for a secure fit. I loved them as soon as I saw them and thought they would be heavy to walk in as they are so robust, but they actually only weigh 500 grams. They are so comforatble and your feet feel so comfortable in them, I can't wait for some dog walks now!
Miss S is growing really quickly so the Regatta coat I bought for her in September is starting to get too small. This time I dipped into the ladies range rather than the kid's range, a size 8 is a really good fit on her. I went for the Schima Parker, currently £49.95, available in black too and in size ladies 8-22. The women's Schima is made of soft-touch waterproof fabric with an additional DWR (Durable Water Repellent) and sealed seams to protect in wet or snowy conditions. Cut mid-thigh length with a front zip fastening and sleek poppered stormflap. The inner is lightly wadded with quick-drying Thermo-Guard insulation and features warming fleece panels around the core. With fine quality faux-fur trims, a 2-way adjust cord to nip the waist and our 1981 heritage badge on the left sleeve. The fur on the hood is removable, but Miss S really seems to like it! It's a great fit and a good length considering she is 10 and it's a ladies coat, I thought it maybe a tad long. There is plenty of room and it looks stylish and comfortable.
Mr L has autism and he struggles to control his body temperature, so he's hot one minute and cold the next. So the Wentwood 3 in 1 jacket is the ideal choice for him and gives him some more options that just a normal jacket.  The Wentwood shell delivers waterproof and breathable protection and mobility across a range of activities. Taped seams, a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and fully adjustable hood make light work of wet weather. Two-way zip fastenings to the centre and underarms provide maximum airflow on tough ascents. The toggle hem and hook and loop cuffs hold heat close. Inside, the snap-out baffle jacket utilises Thermoguard insulation with fleece around the sides and arms for exceptional warmth without the bulk. The Isotex material is waterproof and breathable so he won't feel stifled when wearing it. The zip can be a bit tricky to take the inner jacket off, but once you've got the knack its fine. Mr L got the knack quicker than I did! Currently, the Wentwood is £95.95, it is available in sizes small right the way to 5xl, which is a great range and is also available in black and blue.
For Mr D I was looking for a jacket that was long enough to cover his blazer and keep him dry. I found the Salinger Waterproof Insulated Jacket rrp £71.95. This jacket is available in 5 different colours, I LOVE yellow, but Mr D would no way wear it, so I went for the safe black option. It's a great insulated winter parka that protects from the elements with ISOTEX 5,000 performance fabric. The outer uses soft-touch waterproof/breathable ISOTEX fabric with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and sealed seams to protect in wet, snowy weather. The inner is padded with quick-drying Thermoguard insulation for exceptional warmth. The coat takes inspiration from classic military styles with a faux-fur trimmed detachable hood, zip and stormflap fastening and four pocket design. Further details include a check print lining, handwarmer pockets and the Regatta Outdoors badge on the left sleeve. Its a great thick coat for winter and will keep him toasty on his walk to school.
