Christmas Crafting With Gel-a-Peel

Now you have probably heard of Gel-a-Peel, the kids love the stuff and its the perfect crafting material. We have been sent a bundle of products from the team to have a go at using Gel a Peel for Christmas crafts. My gang were up for the challenge and it got them into the festive spirit.
The Gel-a-Peel deluxe rainbow set was the main part of our kit along with some decoration stencils and Christmas crackers to design on. The Gel-a-Peel mega rainbow kit has 10 different colours to make over 150 one-of-a-kind accessories to wear or share with your friends. It includes 50+ design templates to follow along, or design your own. So after we have had some Christmas fun we can use the kit again and again to make some fun accessories, you can even purchase Gel-a-Peel refill pens.
Mr C donned the Santa hat and was right in there designing his own Santa hat. The Gel-a-Peel pens all have stoppers on to stop them flowing out when you take off the lids. There is a choice of nozzles for the pens, dependant on how thick of a design you want. You place the clear plastic sheet over the design you want and just trace and fill the outline of the design.
Next, he opted for the holly template, he decided to stick with the more traditional colours this time (unlike his orange and pink Santa hat!) Once you have finished your design you need to leave it for a fair few hours to completely dry. We left it overnight to be safe, you then use the pink slider in the box to slide the design off the clear sheet.
The designs are so simple and easy to do and you can be as simple or complex as you want them to be. A good tip for Gel-a-Peel would be to reinforce your joints, our holly broke a little bit as it wasn't strong enough at the join. Mr C was really pleased with his design and they looked really at home on our brightly decorated Christmas tree.
We had lots of fun designing the Christmas cracker, he went for a really bright and funky design. He tried a few different nozzles this time with his design. He even added in some of his own designs in there for further effect. This design was straight onto the cardboard, so we also left this overnight to really harden up before we rolled the cracker.
I love his purple hat! I need to get some new ribbon to tie the cracker up as our pesky dog ate the ribbon out of the pack! Mr C loved this activity and has even made some decorations for some of his friends in school. Its really got us into the Christmas spirit, you can buy Gel-a-Peel sets from Amazon, Argos and Debenhams with sets available to suit most budgets.
