Schleich Horse Range Review

Schleich will reveal a whole new range of horsey products in July which is perfect for any horse lover. The new World of Horses line will feature everything horse fans could ever wish for. Schleich is also expanding the extensive range of toys with new figurines, matching accessories, and playsets of varying sizes. We have been sent 2 of the new range to try out.
The horse set is perfect for some imaginative play opportunities, the set comes with 6 fence panels that you can construct any way you want, 2 different sized horse, 2 hay bales, a grooms person, a food basket and 2 bunches of carrots. The horse and grooms woman are moulded so they are not poseable, but you can move them around to simulate play.
I love how detailed all the playset pieces are, the horse is really textured and you can see the details in their coat and main. The hay bales have a nice 3d shape and are really textured which is really good for some sensory play, which my children love.
The smaller horse is the perfect size for eating the carrots from the feeding basket and the grooms woman hand. It's a really nice set for pretending to care and feed your horses.
The second item from the new range we received for review is the eventing rider, she is the perfect companion for the feeding play set we received.
The horse and rider are again really great quality and made from good quality materials. Th rider and bridle come off the horse, which is a great feature for my children as they love to take things apart.
Miss S has really enjoyed playing with both these items, she really likes horse so I knew she would enjoy them. We are all for toys that encourage imaginative play and these both are just the thing. Miss S was happy making the horse trot around that enclosure and even making them jump over the fence. She was trying to make the grooms woman ride the small horse and got a little frustrated that her stand was in the way. The small carrots were great for practising her motor skills also. The new range gets a massive thumbs up from us and we definitely be investing in some more of the range for Miss S.

I would have loved one of these when I was a child

  3. How lovely. I had something like this as a child and it was my favourite toy.

  4. I remember having a toy like this as well, it was great for making up stories. If your daughter loves horses, you should check out "Own a Pony" days at your local stable or farm. Here in South London, Deen City farm, the charity where I work in the stables, offers "Own a pony" days from 10am to 4 pm at half terms & school holidays. The kids get to groom the ponies (brushing, plaiting of manes & tails), clean out stalls, tidy the yard, have a 1/2 hour ride on leading rein and learn useful facts about horses. It's typically cheaper than childcare & the kids really enjoy it, plus all the physical exertion really tires them out.
