The MicroBarBox

Now I am not a big drinker, even more so since becoming a Mum, but I do like the odd tipple. I also like to try new things. The problem with trying new drinks is the fact you have to buy the full size bottles to make your drinks/cocktails and if you don't like it your stuck with it. The MicroBarBox is the perfect solution, a monthly tasting box priced at just £14 gives you the opportunity to try something new every single month. I was lucky enough to be sent one of their monthly boxes for review, take a look at my unboxing video and see what is inside.
The MicroBarBox comes well packaged in a sleek black box and when you open it up you are met by lovely lime green tissue paper. All the breakables are bubble wrapped for protection during in transit and an added bonus as well as the ingredients for your drinks you also get 2 yummy snacks, in this box where some Dormen Wasabi Peanuts and Barus Chocolate Cloud, they where yummy.
I was really looking forward to the weekend when I would get the the drinks out, having 4 children with varying degrees of sleep difficulty, drinking on a school night is a definite no-no, it did give me chance to have a good look at the menu card and all the different mix options available.
The first option I went for was the Cosmopolitan cocktail, which was a simple mix of the Funkin cosmopolitan mixer and the standing stones vodka. I really enjoyed this drink, I like that as your mixing it yourself you can put as much or as little vodka in as you like and make it your own drink.
I have never tried gin in any form before, but I do love elderflower cordial, so I was interested to see how this cocktail tasted. I found the taste of the gin really over powering and couldn't taste the elderflower at all, but I think gin just isn't a drink for me. It was great to be able to try it though, my husband on the other hand really enjoyed the kick in this drink.
My drink of choice is wine and its always a toss up between Rose and white, I also have a lemonade top so its not to strong. The elderflower spritzer was right up my street and has became my drink of choice, I even prefer it to my favourite Rose wine.
As well as these 3 options I made you could make a cranberry collins combining the cosmopolitan mixer with gin, ice and lime. A coffee 43 which is simply 1 part licor and 2 parts iced espresso and also a licor on the rock or the white wine just chilled.

I love the monthly boxes and think they are a great idea is you like trying new things, if you would like to give it a try I have an exclusive discount code for you which will get you a £2 discount when you sign up to the monthly tasting club, just type in RTR1STBOX12
As well as the monthly boxes they also offer one off boxes and gift vouchers which are perfect if you are looking for gift ideas. Juat pop on over to and take a look at what's on offer.
