Christmas Guide 2017 - Food & Drink

It's that time of year again, I can't believe it came around so quickly! I have been busy since the end of August searching and gathering all the best items you need to have this Christmas. Rather than have an endless guide I have split it into sections again, as this worked well last year. This guide is for all your food and drinks gift ideas, from cheeky stocking fillers to full-sized gifts.
Now if you are going to give the gift of chocolate this year then it has to be Mr Stanleys. They stock a whole host of delights to suit all your family members. I love the cute bauble which has chocolate coins inside, perfect for my little niece. I love the traditional range also, my Mum and Dad are going to love the chocolate cigars and matches. I just have to stay away from temptation until Christmas.
Now my Mum loves a bit of gin, but I have heard that you haven't had gin until you have tried Brockmans Gin Brockmans gin is created from a beautiful recipe of botanicals. These naturally grown aromatic botanicals are steeped in pure grain spirit for many hours to release their oils and aromas. Thereafter, Brockmans is distilled in a 100-year-old traditional copper still, where we capture the heart of the gin distillation. The distinctive gin notes and the aroma of coriander married with the softer notes of blueberry and blackberry help deliver an exquisite new taste experience and an intensely smooth gin.
If you're going to give them veg, why not chocolate veg? Getting your 5 a day is no easy feat, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Chowing down on broccoli just isn’t as fun as scoffing on chocolate… I mean, who excitedly sits down with a plate of sprouts, cabbage, carrots, and onions? Crazy people, that’s who! That’s why these chocolate vegetables are so amazing. They’re handmade from Belgian chocolate and taste 10 x better than even the best tasting beetroot. You can still claim you’re getting your 5 a day but you’ll actually be eating perfect little chocolate replicas. It’s the best of both worlds. Available from Find Me A Gift priced at £8.99.
Sekforde is a range of original bespoke botanical mixers for whiskey, rum and gin. Created by husband and wife Tom and Talula, they are the first mixers individually designed to complement and unlock the flavours in spirits. The mixers use a subtle, balanced blend of natural botanicals in gently carbonated English spring water. They contain under half the sugar found in conventional tonics or other soft drinks.
You cant go wrong with Haribo at Christmas and they are the perfect alternative to chocolate. I love the selection box as it contains all the kid's favourites. The kids have already ploughed through the share the fun tub, so my idea of saving them for Christmas didn't work! I love the stripes cracker and starmix star and think they are lovely gift idea. Haribo and available in most supermarkets with prices starting from just £1.
How cool are these Pickerings gin baubles! The most colourful gin-filled Christmas decorations you can imagine. Each pack contains 6 colourful baubles complete with red Pickering's ribbon. These baubles will arrive filled with 5mls of Pickering's Gin, so please don't leave them where children or animals can reach them. You can actually smell the gin through the box, they make a fab gift and are priced at £30.

Barentsz premium gin boasts an exotic but delicate balance of botanicals sourced from the far ends of the world. A split-base gin based on a blend of two different grain spirits - wheat and rye – Willem Barentsz has a smooth and clean flavour, enhanced by the signature botanical of exotic jasmine flower. Combined with classic botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, orange peel, almond, liquorice, cassia bark and orris root, this gin is sweet and aromatic on the nose, with the jasmine giving way to soft citrus and piney juniper on the palate.
