Starting Your Holiday The Right Way

Its one month until I jet off on my annual week away for the children for some much-deserved respite. We really enjoy our time away and we always start our holiday with a trip to the executive lounge at Manchester Airport. It feels like a real treat and it's so relaxing compared to the hustle and bustle of a busy airport. I am teaming up with Destination 2  to offer one of my readers a voucher for 2 people to use the executive lounge on 1 of 12 airports, read on for your chance to win!
Destination 2 have created a fab blog post giving you a 7-day countdown for getting ready for your holiday abroad. So I thought I would share some of my top tips 5 for preparing to jet off.

1. Packing
Pack your case the week before you go! This gives you plenty of opportunity to make sure you have everything you need. I also always rolls my clothes rather than folding as it saves so much room

2. Shop Around
When it comes to currency I never buy from the first place I find as there are lots of ships on the high street that will offer to beat any previous quote. There are also lots of great online deals to be had for currency.

3. Check Your Documents
Most importantly check the date on your passport, you would be surprised how many people arrive at the airport with an out of date passport.

4. Pre-Book Trips
I always like to do a few day trips when I am away. I have always booked them in a resort with an agent. But last year I found that it was more cost effective to book and pay for my trips before I went. The cost of booking directly with attractions saved me roughly £60 last year.

5. Research The Area
I love to explore the area I am staying in and Google is my friend when it comes to finding out what's what.

What are your best tips for planning your holiday abroad, I would love to hear them? Now it's time for the giveaway, want to win those lounge passes? Enter via the widget below, do read the terms and conditions before entering.

A Few Simple Lingerie and Bra Buying Tips

Most women like shopping for clothes, with maybe one exception. Not everyone enjoys shopping for underwear. It is time-consuming and tricky to get right, as is evidenced by the fact that most women are wearing the wrong size bra.

According to a survey carried out by Triumph, the Swiss lingerie firm, 76% of the 10,000 women they asked had bought the wrong size bra more than once. With this in mind, I decided to put together a quick lingerie buying guide. Using the tips below should help you to identify the best style for you and make sure you buy the right size.

Buy from the right type of retailer
The first tip is to buy from a retailer that sells the type of lingerie that is most likely to fit you. For example, if you are a bit overweight lingerie and bras from Simply Be are a great option. This retailer specialises in selling plus size clothes. Therefore, their designers use the cuts that best work for the curvier figure. They use high quality materials that provide adequate support as well as look sexy.
Going online and having a look around is a good way to find those retailers sell the style of lingerie that is likely to suit you best. Speaking to friends and finding out where they buy their bras and panties is another good way to narrow down your options.

Try on different styles and cuts
An awful lot of women carry on wearing the same style of lingerie, for too long. They tend to stick with what they know and forget that every woman´s body changes shape, over time. As you age, the shape of your breasts changes, you tend to get broader across the hips, and often go up several dress sizes. Inevitably, after a while, a cut that was once perfect for you no longer provides you with enough support, even when you buy it in a bigger size. For this reason, it is important to regularly try on different styles of underwear. It really is the best way to work out which cuts work best for you, right now.

Get professionally measured
The fact that your body changes shape so often means that it is worth getting yourself professionally measured. There are quite a few retailers that offer this service.

If you do not have the time to do this, or cannot book an appointment in a local store, do not worry, because you can easily measure yourself. Use this video to learn how to do it the right way.

Think about how you will wear your lingerie.

Lastly, before you buy, think about how, and when, you are planning to wear your lingerie. You really do not want the top of your bra, or the straps, to show when you wear your favourite style of party dress.

Using the advice above will help you to identify the right cut and size lingerie for you. It should also make it easier for you to shop for your bra and panties online, where you can find the best deals.

New glasses from The Glasses Shop

I had my eyes retested last month and got myself lovely new pair of glasses. I made the mistake of leaving them on the sofa and one of the kids kindly snapped the arm of them! Luckily for me a week later The Glasses Shop got in touch to see if I was interested in reviewing a new pair of eyeglasses from their huge well-priced range. They also allowed me to choose a pair of prescription sunglasses, perfect with my holiday coming up soon.
The first thing I must mention is these glasses come from abroad, so they do take around 2 weeks to arrive. You will be provided with full shipping details when you order though, the postage wait it well worth the savings you make from ordering from the site for sure. My order arrived 10 days after I ordered and they were well packaged in hard cases for protection.
For my actual glasses, I opted for a men's frame, I have a bit of a moon head and some very fetching hamster cheeks and some ladies frames do me no justice. I opted for the Joseph frame in tortoise shell priced at just £25.32! They have spring loaded sides for comfort and a nice wide set frame with adjustable nose pads.
I was pleased to see that the lenses have an anti-reflection coating on them, perfect for when I am working on my computer. I am really pleased with how they look and how they fit on my face. They are really comfortable. This particular frame also comes in black.
I have never owned a pair of prescription sunglasse, but now is the time as my optometrist says I must wear my glasses all the time. There are some really funky designs when it comes to sunglasses on the website. I wanted a nice subtle pair and the Amelia frames really fitted my criteria. They come in a lovely subtle red colour, with a choice of tint colour on the lenses. Another absolute bargain price of £27.42!
We are in the midst of a heatwave in Manchester, it makes a nice change from the awful weather we normally get. It also means I have been able to road test my new sunnies. They are a lovely fit and most importantly don't slip down my nose when I'm hot! They don't have spring loaded sides but are made of good quality plastic so are quite flexible. I love the black material case they come with, they offer great protection when they aren't in use.
I would use The Glasses Shop again, the savings are great and the products are fab quality, I'm more than happy with the service.

All Things Wedding

So my little sister got married in June and I was tasked with finding her all she would need for her reception on her big day. She works nights so her time is tight and I always have time on my hands nowadays, so it's the perfect solution. I have been gathering all sorts of samples that would be perfect for your special day, whether you're looking for favours, tableware or decorations.
How about personalised handmade soaps to give as wedding favours? Bean and Boy have just released mini bar versions of their popular large soaps and they've completely flown off the shelves. Their artisan handmade soap has been designed for sensitive skin and is loved by families. It's handmade in small batches, is completely cruelty-free and uses responsibly-sourced vegan ingredients. The soaps come beautifully gift boxed and would look truly stunning.
If you're looking for a bride and groom then how about these adorable itty bitty ones from Hallmark. They are super soft and cuddly and the perfect size to go on the cake table either side of the cake and they make perfect keepsakes.
For the wedding favours I headed over to eBay, just type in favours and you get pages full of all things wedding. I found these love white heart dragees for only £2 for a bag of 50! That was enough to put 2 in each favour box.
My sister wanted something personalised in the favour boxes, a keepsake that guests could keep. I hunted these Lovehearts down on eBay, they can be personalised with your names and your wedding date. They actually arrived really quickly and were around £8 for 30 tubes.
It's just not a wedding favour without sugared almonds, is it! This bag of 50 was from Ebay and was only a few pounds. They have a whole range of colours and quantities available so you can customise with your wedding theme.
I love how delicate these favour boxes are, I did need to build them all though, all 25 of them and it took ages! The all slotted together securely though and were a bit of a bargain at £2 for 25!
All of the next items were supplied by the fabulous team over at House Of Party, who have a whole range of wedding party ranges to suit any budget and any design. I told them the wedding theme was pink and they matched me with the fab geo blush range and sent me a party box containing everything I would need for the reception. With Signs and bunting from just £6 decorating your venue doesn't have to cost the earth. I loved the air fill balloons, they were so easy to fill and hang
Rather than cut into her lovely cake on the day, we decided to buy some tray bakes and fill these cake boxes and put them out on the table for the guests to take home. It worked well and the boxes went down a treat. The cake boxes are £4.50 per pack of 10 from the House of Party website.
I think a card box is a lovely idea, this one from the geo blush range is only £7.50 and fab size. it just pops up and you add the lid, it was great for putting on the gift table.
I added these chocolate favours into the favour boxes and they were the perfect size. They are individually wrapped and come in boxes of 20. They are £6.75 per box and they were really yummy, we only needed 25, so still got 2 boxes which meant I got to eat a few when I was favour box making!
To match the geo blush range is this lovely Mr & Mrs table confetti priced at only £3.99. I liked that it was slightly larger than standard table confetti and the multi colours and stripes looked fab on the tables.
The beautifully bound guest book was stunning, the gold trim really stands out. The pages where plain white to enable guests to write their own messages for the bride and groom. It tied with a pretty white ribbon and is a beautiful keepsake.
My sister wasn't having a formal sit done meal after her wedding, she favoured a small family party and buffet. So we used the place cards to reserve seating in the registry office for family members. This ensured they got a good seat and saved us having to tell anyone where to sit.
For the tableware House of Party sent me the pattern works range, in the geometric gold and pink stripe design. The plates and cups come in packs of 8 and the napkins in packs of 15 all priced at £3.49 a pack, the compliment the geo blush range perfectly.
The Bride and Groom had a fab day, they looked amazing and they loved all the little wedding touches I provided through my blog. My sister was really pleased with the room decor, I highely recommend House of Party, Ebay, Bean and Boy and Hallmark for all yor little touches for your DIY wedding decor.

Vax 32V Blade Cordless

I have a big obsession with vacuums, I think it stems from having cats when I was younger and hating cat hairs. I have a dog myself and the battle of dog hairs is an ongoing issue. I look for a machine that can easily glide from carpet to flooring, easy to get up the stairs and ideally cordless but powerful. I was sent the new Vax 32V blade to try out. Check out the unboxing video below!

I have been using it now for a few weeks and I have enjoyed using it. I am also impressed with its power and performance against those pesky pet hairs. It boasts to be as powerful as a corded vacuum and I have no complaints and have to agree with the statement.
The unit is really easy to assemble all the attachments clip on and off with ease and the dust bin empties with the flick of a catch. I really like that you can completely remove the filter and give it a good clean out to. My unit came with some power already in it and I was able to do the whole house of just 50% battery. The battery indicator is a welcome addition to the unit, it can help you judge if you can finish your job or not. A full charge takes 4 hours and gives you 45 minutes run time, which is more than enough to cover my 3-bed house top to bottom.
The long extension pole is perfect for using the unit as an upright hoover, but I love to use it without too, it's great for cleaning the sofas and hoovering the individual stairs. The boost mode is great for sucking up all the dog hairs, but using the boost function does reduce your operating time, but it does work just as well on normal mode. I really like the multi-directional head, it makes going round corners really easy and makes sure you get all the little bits of dust from every corner. The whole unit is made from good quality moulded plastic and has a good weight behind it, it's not too heavy though and it comfortable to use without hurting your arm. Inside the box, you also get a crevice tool, which is great for doing down the sides of the sofas and the skirting boards, so it is a great all round one stop cleaning service. The Vax 32V Blade is currently on sale on the Vax website for £179.99, which is a saving of £120, so grab one now!

City Marble Case From The Case Company

A while ago I reviewed a lovely case from the team over at Case Company, I was so pleased with the quality. They contacted me about a week ago and told me about an exciting new project they were launching called City Marble. It allows you to put your hometown, the place you grew up or even just your favourite place in the world on your technology case!
I was really excited by the project, I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Manchester and still live here today. With recent events in my beautiful city, this review couldn't have come at a better time.
Available for a whole host of mobile phones and technology devices you can get the City Marble design on watever you like. The design process is also really easy once you have selected the device you are creating the City Marble for, for some devices, there is a few choice of case types and designs.
I have the iPhone 5SE and went for the soft effect case in the bright pink colour, my phone (which is being repaired, thanks to a dodgy home button) is in rose gold, so I thought it would compliment it well. When it comes to your City Marble you can type in a place, landmark and even home postcode and it brings up a map. You can then zoom in or out and move the map aorund to find the perfect place for your map. Once you have your placement how you want it you can add emojis and text to your creation.
You can also change to colour if your map, I went for the above colour option as it looks fab with the pink. My case came just 2 days after I ordered it, so I was really pleased with the ease of service. The case is fab quality and looks great, I just need to wait for my phone to come back from the apple gods so I can put it to full use!

Weekly Weigh In - 31/05/17

So this video has been on my channel since last week and I forgot to link it here for you blog readers! Sorry!! So it was time for another weigh in at Slimming world, I had been a bit 50/50 that week and was unsure of what the scales would say. I was a little shocked, to say the least at the results on the scales! I'm a slimming world old schooler now and should be better at this, kicking myself! It's actually weigh in day again tomorrow, but I share my results on a Wednesday, so not long to see what this week gave me.

Stick with me, see you next week

Dreambone Treats From Webbox

Our Honey recently received a lovely package from the team at Webbox, she got lots of samples of the yummy new Dreambone products. They are made from wholesome grains, vegetables and fresh meat. An alternative to rawhide and they are easiest to digest, Honey is only a medium breed so this is a great advantage for her. Take a look at my Youtube video and see the yummy treats they sent her to try.

The Dreambone are available in 2 varieties stuffed sticks and twisted bones, they are low fat, wheat and gluten free and made with fresh meat, so all good stuff.
The first treats we found in the box were the chicken and vegetable small bones, you get 2 small bones in the bag. They are a great size for my little doggy and she was attracted to the meaty smell as soon as the bag was open. They didn't have the same plastic look as some previous dog treats we have tried for Honey and they got the seal of approval from her. The beef and vegetable went down equally as well, the recommended daily serving of these is no more than 3 treats per day. Honey has much less than this, usually, just one per day, but I like that they offer recommended advice as many people overfeed their dog treats.
Now when I opened these beef stuffed twists flavoured with sweet potato the smell was so sweet! They really gave Honey something to chew over the twisted shape really gave her jaw a workout and are great for her dental health and strengthening her teeth. I think Honey's favourite treat was the chicken stuffed with peanut butter twists! She actually barked at me for me more when she had munched her way through it. I really liked the smell of the chicken and peanut butter, they smelled good enough for human consumption!!
Honey really enjoyed her Dreambone experience and we will definitely be buying them again when she has munched her way through this little lot. The Dreambone are available in bulk from the website or in single pouches from most major supermarkets.
