Gtech Air Ram MK2 K9 Review

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to ridding the house of dust and dirt, it's always an uphill battle with 4 children. Then 6 months ago we added a puppy to the mix!! Honey is a pug cross shitzu, a pugzu and she is hairy! She has since added to my cleaning nightmares, I have the Gtech Multi which is perfect for the stairs and small clean ups, but thanks to Honeys fur we are now needing to hoover the laminate daily too.
A 4x4 upgrade of the original AirRam, the AirRam K9 is extra tough. Designed not only for great cleaning performance but to handle even the most stubborn challenges left behind by your four legged friends. It comes dismantled in the box but is easily put together in 3 simple clicks.
The K9 is strengthened by aluminium components, so even tougher to resist the wear and tear caused by even the toughest cleaning environments. I am terrible for bumping my vacuum into doors and skirting boards. The lightweight design allows you to glide around your home, steering easily from left to right.
The AirRam weighs just 3.5kg. That’s half the weight of many mains powered upright vacuums, making AirRam easy to lift and carry up stairs. All the power comes from a professional-grade 22V Lithium-ion battery. Its energy efficient design means you can clean your home twice on one 4-hour charge, running for up to 40 minutes. You can also give a 1-hour short charge which will deliver a burst of additional run time. The 4 stage LED display indicates how much charge is left in the battery and is really handy for knowing how much time you have left.
The AirRam K9 has refillable floral scented tabs that fit into the filter, to leave rooms smelling clean and fresh.A fresh filter comes pre-installed and you get a handy box of refills as well as a roller foam refill. These both sit inside the dirt collection box on the front of the vacuum. The dirt collection system in the new AirRam K9 has been redesigned, making it easier to empty with even less mess. The dirt is compressed into a capsule in the head of the vacuum, which gives more dirt storage capacity and means you can cleanly eject the tubular dirt bale straight into the bin with a satisfying slide of the ejector arm. I love this feature, no more tapping your dirt box on the side of the bin to empty out the dirt.
I also like the fact the brush head is completely removable with the push of a button. You can slide out the brush and there are bevelled edges right through the brush. This allows you to run a pair of scissors through and get the tangled hair out easily! The rubber bumpers on the front are really good to for filtering big pieces of dirt out of the way.
The K9 Move effortlessly from carpet to hard floors and back again, with no settings to change. The AirRam has an ultra-low profile, allowing you to reach under chairs and tables, so it's great for getting around and under all your furniture . In addition to the cordless technology it, means no more fighting with snagged cords or plug sockets. I think the only think that would make this machine even better for me would be to have a charging doc that you stand the machine on to charge, rather than a pin plug to plug into the battery compartment. But that is a really minor thing, it's not too harsh having to bend down to plug into charge, so I can live with it. I love everything else about it and it's the perfect companion for the fight against our fur monster Honey. You can buy the Gtech Air Ram MK2 K9 direct from the Gtech Website for £249, or you can get the combo offer for £349 and add the Multi K9 to your basket too.

  1. Looks like a good product and well written review. I have two dogs and my wife is a vet nurse, so something that's easy to use and picks up the little bits of dirt is most welcome. :)
