Fireman Sam Summer Safety Campaign

We all try and instil some safety knowledge into out little ones don't we, this summer Fireman Sam is on hand to help launch a nationwide campaign on the importance of keeping safe this summer. Child Safety Week runs 6th-12th June and is an annual initiative run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) to raise awareness of child-related accidents and how they can be prevented. I don't know about yours, but my children love Youtube and watching all kinds of videos and this Fireman Sam Summer Saftey Compilation video is perfect for strengthening the message.

Bringing these important tips to life and to support Child Safety Week messages, Fireman Sam and his team also feature in fun animated videos that will ensure all members of the family are aware of the potential hazards that can cause accidents during the summer.
  1. Always walk when you are near a swimming pool, never run.
  2. Always walk when you are near a swimming pool, never run.
  3. If you are swimming in the sea, never turn your back to the sea – this will prevent you from seeing big waves coming towards you.
  4. Take care when paddling and swimming in the sea as the water can get deep very quickly.
  5. Always ensure you have a responsible adult with you when paddling and swimming in the sea.
  6. Always leave lighting a barbeque to a responsible adult.
  7. Ensure you keep your barbeque a safe distance from trees, bushes and anything else that may catch fire before lighting it.
  8. Make sure that your barbeque is placed on a flat surface so it stays in place once it’s lit.
  9. Always stand back from a barbeque and keep a safe distance whilst it is in use.
  10. Always stand back from a barbeque and keep a safe distance whilst it is in use.
Katrina Phillips, Chief Executive of the Child Accident Prevention Trust, comments: “It is really important that parents and children are vigilant and take extra precaution this summer to avoid unnecessary accidents. The Fireman Sam Summer Safety videos are a fantastic way to support Child Safety Week and what we stand for, as well as reinforcing key safety messages without finger wagging at parents”.

I think you will agree all 10 are a must for the summer months, could you think of any that aren't here you would like to add?
Thanks For Reading
Mandy
