What was in Aprils Degustabox

I had a Degustabox delivered this month and it was a good mix of things I haven't tried before and things I am familiar with. If you haven't heard of Degustabox it's a monthly subscription box priced at £12.99 that delivers 9-14 surprise products, many of the products are new to the market so you get to try them first. Take a look at my video to see what was inside this months box.

I really liked this months box, it had a nice variety of things that myself and the children liked. Here is a detailed run-down of the contents and prices for you.

Canderel Sugarly £3.00 - As a slimming worlder sweetener is a cupboard staple, I really liked this as it's closer to sugar and tasted better on my Weetabix. It's probably a little more that I would pay for sweetener but its really nice all the same.
Thor Apple Drinks £1.80 x 2 - There were 2 different flavours in the box original apple and an apple and ginger. Both were really refreshing and tasted lovely ice cold straight from the fridge.
Levi Roots Jerk Seasoning £1 - This is great value for the price, there was enough sauce to cover 4 chicken breasts. We left it to marinate overnight and it was so tasty.
Popchips £1.99 - I have had the original popchips before, but I really enjoyed the garlic and rosemary flavour in this month box.
Rejuvenation Water £1.99 - This is available in 3 flavours and it was the apple and mint flavour in our box. It was really refreshing and really perked me up after a long day.
Veetee Rice £1.29-£1.49 - We have had Veetee products in last month's box, but they are always a welcome addition to our cupboard. I am looking forward to trying the quinoa flavour box.
Nestle Chocolate £1 - £1.29 - The children were really happy to see these in the box, they do love a bit of chocolate. We have had the smartie bar before, the Milkybar chocolate is new, it has crunchy pieces inside. The children loved them, however, they are really high in sugar, so only suitable for a special treat!
Bebeto Fruit Strings £1.99 - I loved these, a 7-day week pack in all different flavours, they would be great for popping in children lunch boxes.
Parle 25p - 89p - We have some Parle products in last months box, these are a great little snack for the children. They are really crunchy and the rusk are a bit like melba toast, they are really nice and a great price.
Green Lady £1.99 - I drink a lot of green tea, but haven't had it cold before. This is made using the finest ingredients. I can't say I loved it, but I would have it again.

What do you think of the contents? This month's contents retails for around £21, so you are getting more than your monies worth in the box. There were 14 items from 10 different brands so a good variety. Want to try Degustabox yourself? You can get a massive £6 off your first box by using code BLDEG15 at the checkout.

Wicked Uncle Review

I have quite a large family that have children of all ages, this makes birthday days difficult. I always find it really easy to buy for the younger ones but as they get that bit older it gets even harder. I have recently reviewed the service at Wicked Uncle, a really cool online toy & gift shop who aim to look after the uncles, aunts, godparents and grandparents of the world who need to send cool presents to kids. They have put together lots of really cool, unusual, interesting presents that children will love. They also offer a nice gift wrapping paper and they can be sent directly with a handwritten birthday card. They will also send you reminders so you never miss another present ever!

As you can see from the video above they site offers you different ages and categories to choose from, this makes it really easy to narrow down your choices. I like that they cover from new baby all the way up to teenagers, I also love that they cover a range of budgets. I was given £40 to spend on the site and these are what I got.
Mr. D loves horrible histories and enjoys watching the episodes on catch up tv. I saw this and knew he would love it. This is a fun game the whole family can enjoy and priced at only £10.95, each card features a different villain and you have to remember what you can in 10 seconds. Its a fun fast paced game.
I spotted the optical illusions book whilst browsing through gifts for teens. Mr. L loves things like this is fascinated him. The book is priced at only £6.99 and it is packed with mind-bending illusions, puzzles and tricks.
This weird creatures mix & match is perfect for my youngest 2, they love to be creative. This game is priced at £8.95  and they can play it traditionally and make real animals or be really silly and make their own weird and wonderful new creatures. It will certainly be fun and keep them busy.
I even spotted this recipe binder which is perfect for me! This colourful spotty binder is priced at £6.95, it is full of good quality pages to write your recipes on. It also comes with different dividers to you can categorise your recipes. This is ideal for all the Slimming World recipe cutting I have been collecting from the magazine. I can now sit and write them up into this cute binder.
It wouldn't be a birthday without a bit of chocolate would it? This 9cm hollow white chocolate egg is £4.95. It is decorated with chocolate buttons and sprinkles to give him a nice smiley face. It comes in a nice cellophane bag tied with a ribbon, it will make a lovely little gift for your chocolate lover.

I really like the Wicked Uncle website, I was easily able to find things that all my children and relatives would love. The website is really easy to navigate, I love the categories and the reminders service is great for a busy Mum of 4 like me.

The Clangers Magazine Review

My gang love a magazine, they cost me small fortune in them whenever we go to the shops. But, in all honesty we don't mind spending the money as most of the magazines for children have a great educational angle to them. The new Clangers Magazine is out today and its jam packed full of lots of things to make and do all with an educational vibe to them, so your little ones will think they are having fun but learning at the same time!
We thought as its a magazine it would be good to make a video so you can see the activities. Have a look at our Youtube video which tells you all about the contents and what Mr.C thought of it.
Mr.C loves The Clangers so has really engaged with this magazine. He really enjoyed completing all the activities. It focuses and extends on the things he has been learning at school. He is a confident reader and writer so he found it really easy to read the instructions to complete each of the different activities. He really liked the bumper sticker section in the centre. Usually the magazine gets cast aside after about 10 minutes, but Mr.C sat with this and went cover to cover completing each activity. He really loved the whistle and Clanger on the front of the magazine.
The Magazine is in newsagents today, so be quick and get your copy while stocks last. The magazine costs £2.85 which is less than I spend on a coffee each day, so I think its a great price for some sneaky educational fun.

Wiplii Cardboard House Review & Giveaway

Last week the children had some fun with a review project we have been sent from the company Wiplii. They offer a range of cardboard designs that can be built up and the children are free to be creative and decorate the project as they wish. From houses to pirate ships there is a project for all children to complete.
The children were sent a fab cardboard house from the range. The house comes flat in a box and you have to build it yourself. It comes in 2 separate pieces that just slot together, you get some easy to follow instructions. It is really as simple as folding and slotting in the pieces as shown in the diagram. It took me a few minutes to do. Once built the house is 36 inches high, so ideal for your 3 - 5 year olds to get inside.
Mr C loved that he cold use pens and colour his house in, he also loved the brightly coloured stickers that came with the kit. It is really sturdy and solid once built and it was able to cope with the roughness of my 5 year old barging in and out fo the front door. The doors and windows are able to open and close and Mr C found it really easy to do. It's the perfect thing for a rainy Spring day to keep your little ones busy and get their creative flair running.
I think these are a great idea and they sell for just over 19 euros, which is about £15. The lovely team from Wiplii have provided me with a reader discount code for 10% off, just put the code raisingtherainbows in at the checkout. They have also given me a fab teepee to giveaway to one of my lucky readers. Colour With Me Mum Review and Giveaway

I have a fab collection of adult colouring book in my house now and the children love it when we all sit down and colour together. I have been sent a brand new book this week from Quarto Knows which will allow the children to colour with me.
Colouring is a great activity for parents to do with their children. Not only does it take you away from the screens of tablets and computers, but it gives you an authentic way to connect and have fun! Featuring over 50 unique colouring templates, family psychologist Dr. Jasmine Narayan’s colouring book is shaped to make colouring side by side easier. Each spread features a single piece of art connected across the page. One side has more intricate artwork for you, while the other has simplified artwork for your child. While you are each working on your own piece, they come together to form one beautiful, single piece of art! The book also includes 100 questions to generate thoughtful responses from your child, and how to best communicate with your child through colouring.
I love the designs in the book, the children's page is really chunky designs o easy to colour in and then the adults page is so much more intricate. Its a lovely book for only £8.99 and available to buy from May 1st on Amazon. But thanks to the team at Quarto Knows I have a 2nd copy of the book to giveaway to one of you!

Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and bustling Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. A #DisneyToddler Tea Party for #NationalTeaDay

Did you know that today is National Tea Day, a day to celebrate Britains national drink because most people love a good cuppa don't they? Myself and Miss S have planned our own tea party to celebrate this fab day. We have been sent an amazing selection of Disney toddler dolls and a Sofia The First tea set to enable us to have our very own Disney tea party.
There are 8 different toddler dolls in the range and we have been sent 4 of them to join in with our tea party. They came all dressed up ready to party, crowns and everything!
The first doll we unboxed was Ariel with her stunning long red hair. She has a lovely blue and purple dress and a silver tiara on top of her head. Her arms and legs are fully poseable, so she can sit nicely at the party table.
Cinderella is Miss S favourite of all the princesses, so she was really excited to see her unboxed. Like all the toddler dolls she has beautiful glitter patterns on her dress. The dolls all come with tiaras that are secured in their hair, so you can't lose them.
Our other 2 party guests were Rapunzel and Sofia, dressed in all their finery, which is only to be expected when you are the guests of honor at a tea party.
We unboxed the tea set and it's a lovely little set. Its perfect for tea for 2, there are 2 dainty tea cups, 1 teapot, 2 spoons and 4 little cakes. The tablecloth has the plates and side plates printed on and it is the perfect size for the 4 dolls to sit around for some afternoon tea. It's a really lovely set and just what we needed.
Miss S and I had a lovely time with our Princesses, we drank tea, ate cake and had a good old time. Miss S was a perfect hostess and made sure all her Princess guests had enough to eat and drink. She even made sure their hair and outfits were perfect before they left. She thinks she is the luckiest girl in the world to have 4 new Princesses for her collection.
You can get your own Disney Princess Dolls for £20 from Amazon and the Sofia The First Tea set for £19.99.

Zootropolis Officer Judy Hopps Plush Review

You may have seen the images on my social media of the lovely Zootropolis toys we were sent for review from Tomy. If you didn't, then we were sent 3 of the toys from the range and the children have been busy trying them out over the past week or so.
I have been sharing the details of each toy individually and I am running a giveaway to win all 3 toys in the range which launches tomorrow. Today I am sharing the 3rd toy in the range, Officer Judy Hoops Plush, priced at £16.99.
Judy Hopps is a rookie police officer who believes that anyone can be anything. Even though being the first bunny on a police force made up of big, tough animals isn’t easy, she jumps at the chance to prove herself by taking on the biggest case of her life. This Feature Plush Judy captures her personality perfectly: kind, upbeat and optimistic, she’s ready to leave traffic duty and go on patrol, sniffing out the city’s crooks. Give her a squeeze to hear all kinds of sounds from the movie! Made of soft, durable material, she’s tough enough for the job (but still appreciates a hug)… Judy is surface washable and comes with 2 AAA batteries included. She’s just one of a range of collectible plush figures from TOMY: look out for wise-cracking Nick Wilde and Finnick in his elephant disguise! Not everyone in Zootropolis is made to get along – but sometimes natural enemies have to find a way in such a large city with animals large, small, fast and slow!

This is a lovely little toy, ideal for our younger Zootropolis fans. Judy is lovely and soft an if you press her tummy she talks to you. She says lots of phrases from the movie, she is about 7 inched tall, so great for taking out and about and not to big to fit in your handbag. Miss S took a shine to Miss Judy and she's not put her down. She loves the fact she says phrases from the film and continually presses her tummy to hear her talk. You can see how much she loved her in our video.
Shes a lovely toy and you can win her along with the other  toys we reviewed in the new giveaway that launches at midnight, so stay tuned.

Say Hello to Honey

If you follow me on social media then you may have seen some of my uploads of our little dog Honey. We have gone back and to with the decision to get a dog for a few years now. We have read a lot about the therapeutic benefits of dogs for children on the spectrum. We looked at service dogs but you are looking at thousands for one that is fully trained. Dave has been brought up around dogs, so he was confident he could get a puppy trained no problem. So we decided to get a puppy, we didn't really have a breed in mind, we just wanted a medium sized short haired dog.
I started my search and after about a month I stumbled on an advert for 7 puggle puppies, the advert was a few weeks old and we didn't even know if there would be any pups left. I gave them a call and they said there was 1 pup unreserved and it was female. I immediately reserved her and went down the same day to see her, I fell in love instantly.
Taking on a puppy when you have your hands already full is no mean feat, but we were thinking of the benefits this bundle of fluff would bring to our family dynamic. Mr D has issues with his temper, he struggles to keep control of himself in situations he has no control over and gets frustrated. We noticed what level calm comes over him every time my Dad visits with his dog. He would sit the whole time stroking the dog and the change in him was unbelievable.
We decided to name our puggle Honey, it just kind of suited her when I picked her up and I decided upon her name on the way home with her. She has settled in really well and it's like she has always been here and the children all love her. True to his word Dave has been training her, she will now sit on command and will recall from the garden if you whistle her a certain way. She walks beautifully on her lead and her accidents have been very limited. She has been using her puppy pads since day 1 and now she is all microchipped and vaccinated she will go outside. I am still not confident to let her off her lead outdoors, she's still only 4 months old and we would like to work more on her recall before we do that.
As predicted, Honey has had the biggest impact on Mr D, he is like a different boy. Even in hs biggest rages one glance in Honey's direction he instantly calms down. Honey seems to have some sense of his mood to, whenever he sits down she will perch herself next to him and if he started raising his voice she will lick his face or nudge his hand. She is a lovely affectionate dog and we definitely made the right breed choice, she won't get any bigger than a large Jack Russell. She has a really playful temperament and love cuddles, she is now a fully fledged addition to the Raising The Rainbows house, its like she's always been here.

Scoff Club Sweet Box Review

So I may have lost 2 and a half stone, but I still love the odd sweet, life is all about balance after all. So when I was offered the chance to review a box of yummy surprise sweeties from Scoff Club, I of course said a big fat YES!
So what is Scoff Club? Well, its a monthly subscription service for sweet lover everywhere. You can join up for just £12.95 for 1 month, £34.99 for 3 months or £69.99 for 6 months. Each month you get a nice box delivered to the door full of a pick of retro and classic sweets to delight your sweet tooth! This is the contents of the lovely box we got through the door this month.
The first item in the box were these yummy tutti fruiti fizzy cubes. Not a sweet I have tried before but they looked so good. Each one tasted slightly different and they had a nice fizziness to them, I really liked these and would definitely have them again.
The next item is an old favourite, Haribo jelly babies, I would like to say I enjoyed these..........But the children got to them first haha. They thoroughly enjoyed them, you just can't go wrong with Jelly Babies.
One of my all time favourites sweet are bonbons, I would always get a quarter of strawberry ones on the way home from school on a Friday. I really enjoyed this clotted cream flavour, they are really creamy and have the lovely chewiness that all bonbons have.
I was so excited when I saw these in the box, they are my guilty diet pleasure!! They are so yummy and who doesn't love peanut butter inside a crispy shell, sweet and crunchy in one!!
For all you honeycomb lovers there is a great big bag of chocolate covered honeycomb in this months box. We all like a bit of honeycomb in our house, so the bag didn't last long between all of us, it was delicious.
These watermelon rockets aren't a sweet I have tried before, you could actually smell the watermelon before you even open the bag. They were so tasty and sweet, I had to arm wrestle Dave for the last one ;)
The final item in the box was another old school favourite! Eye poppers. I remember buying these for 10p from my local newsagents on the way to school. I used to love the super sour bubblegums and it was ace to have them again and reminisce about school days!

We all loved the contents of our Scoff Club sweet box and will definitely be getting another box in the future. They would also make a fab gift fo a friend or relative, but if you just fancy a treat for yourself then I recommend it!
