#BackToSchool With Nutmeg at Morrisons

Now we are well into the school holidays its time to start thinking about getting the back to school supplies. With 4 children all in school uniforms cost and quality are a big factor for us, we don't want to pay the earth or have to replace them constantly. I have shopped in the Nutmeg range before but haven't tried the uniforms before.
The range is available right now in selected stores and you can get your child kitted out for as little as £7 (polo shirt, jumper and trousers/skirt) You can't grumble at that price even if like me you have a few to dress, but with prices so cheap whats the quality like? Let's see....
The 2 packs of polo shirts start from just £2 (dependant on size), available from aged 4 right up to aged 13 years in red, white or blue. My children go to different schools which means I have to buy a few different colours and Nutmeg have all the colours I need. The polo shirts are machine washable and more importantly tumble dryer safe (a must have for the winter months when you can't pop them on the line) They are 100% cotton and you can feel how soft they are, the collars are also ribbed for extra comfort. They twin needled hem means they can withstand a bit of wear and tear (important if you have rowdy boys) The girls polo shirts have a pretty scalloped collar and cute flower buttons, I love this feature as it means I won't have to check the inside label to see who's is who's shirt (Miss S and Mr C have the same colour top) and they also have a slightly fitted look. Talking of labels, the bain of my life is once you have the uniform is sitting stitching or sewing in name labels, the whole of the Nutmeg uniform range come with name labels in them so you just need a fabric pen to write their names on!They are really soft and stretchy and the sizes are age appropriate, a great buy for between £2 and £4 a packet.
The boys school trousers start at £3 a pair, in grey or black and are available from aged 4 to aged 13. The trousers are Teflon coated which means they repel water, oil and stains. When you wash them the fabric releases ground in stains, they are hard wearing and suitable for tumble drying. They have an adjustable waist so they are perfect for children who like Mr C need the length but not necessarily the waist. The older boys option have a handy pocket on the side, I am sure Mr D is going to come back from school with some interesting things in that pocket. The double secured hem offers extra protection from fallen hemlines and the trouser close with a button and a zip. I found the trousers (we got ages 4-5 and 9-10) were true to size for the boys age, Mr D's will need taking up a little but he isn't as tall as Mr C is.
As soon as I took the boys jumpers out of the delivery parcel I was noticed how super soft they are, the jumpers are 100% cotton and feel so much more expensive than £4 per jumper. The thick knitted ribbed band round the bottom is great for preventing shirt tails popping out, its nice and fitted but has a nice stretch to it so it won't lose shape. The collar is also ribbed and sits in a nice v shape, the v isn't too deep either, just enough to expose a few buttons. The jumper is suitable for the washing machine and tube dryer and again as with the rest of the range we have tried so far, the sizes are age appropriate.
We always get Miss S a pinafore instead of a skirt as she is always trying to take her clothes off and a pinafore thwarts her efforts somewhat. The pinafore is priced at £5 and like the rest of the range is easy care so can be popped into the tumble dryer. The pinafore has a lovely fitted appearance on the top and the skirt has a nice flair on the bottom. It also has 3 nice pleats in the front and a cute little bow on the left hip. The material is super soft and an added bonus for us is the stretchy material, there are no zips or buttons so you can easily pull it on and off. It is a really nice length to and sits below Miss S's knee by about a inch and a half, and she is tall for her age.
The last item is the super soft pure cotton cardigan which is priced at £4 and is available in red, navy blue and royal blue. Similarly to the jumpers you notice the softness of the cotton as soon as you touch it, the ribbed hem is super stretchy. I like the little love heart buttons on the cardigan, they are a lovely little design touch.
I have talked a little about the fit of the uniforms in the individual items descriptions above, but as you can see from the above pictures they fit great, the collar are in proportion and sit nicely over the jumpers/cardigans. I like the fit and size of the trousers especially, we have had trousers in the past which the legs have been so wide you could get an extra child in each leg!
I think the children look super smart in their Nutmeg uniforms and I love the fit, feel and quality of all the items. For all the above items it would have cost me £32, which I think is a really good price for 3 full uniforms that are of great quality. The children seem to like them to!
Pop along to your local Morrisons store now to view the Back To School Range, are well as uniforms you can get shoes, PE kits, bags and all their stationery essentials, why shop around when you can get it all under one roof?
Thanks For Reading
